A response
of 'Waiting for Line', 'Waiting for Dial Tone', or 'No Line' indicates that the terminal is not detecting a dial
tone, or is not getting a
response from the dialed host. This response can be the result of a download or a transaction attempt.

The Terminal is not connected to an active phone line. | Connect the terminal to an active phone jack. |
| The Terminal is connected to a line that requires a 9 to dial out. | Set terminal to dial 9. | |
| The Terminal is set to dial 9, but the line does not require it. | Remove the 9 from the terminal programming. | |
| The Terminal is connected to a line that has call waiting. | Set the terminal to dial *70 before dialing the number. | |
| The caller is on the same line as the terminal. | Caller will have to disconnect in order for the terminal to dial out. | |
| Other devices are sharing the line with the terminal. | Remove any other devices that are sharing the same line. | |
| The phone cord connecting the terminal to the jack is defective. | Replace the phone cord. | |
| The terminal is connected to a Digital line. | Connect the terminal to a standard analog line. | |
| The terminal is connected to a line that will not allow long distance calling, and the phone service provider is blocking the call. | Move the terminal to an unblocked line, or have the phone service provider remove the block on the line. | |
| Vericenter - for downloads or NCN - for transactions is currently down. | Confirm, by dialing, the number is responding - if not, notify your supervisor of the outage. Get a callback number for the caller, we will advise when the server is back online. | |
| The modem in the terminal is defective. | Confirm by having the terminal dial into your direct extension, if confirmed that the modem is not dialing out, the terminal will require service. | |
| Voice Mail currently on the line is not allowing the terminal to detect the dial tone. | Clear all voice mail messages from the line, insert commas before the number to provide a sufficient delay before the terminal attempts to dial the number. |
