Configuration of the Verifone CR-600 is determined by the type of Point of Sale terminal that the reader will be connected to.  There are three basic configurations for the VeriFone CR-600:

     1. Hypercom - Configuration for Hypercom series terminals are the same.
     2. Thales Talento, and VeriFone Tranz - Configuration for these terminals are the same.
     3. VeriFone Omni - Configuration for Omni series terminals are the same.
To configure a VeriFone CR-600, a series of physical checks are required to be run through the reader. This checks must be printed with MICR, so it is not possible to fax, or photocopy a configuration check. Configuration checks can be mailed at no charge via first class mail, if you require a configuration check to be shipped overnight, please provide a UPS, DHL or FedEx account number when placing the order.

The Configuration Check may be on check stock or plain paper, but should look similar to below:

CR 600 - (Terminal Type)

This set of checks is designed to configure the CR600 check reader to interface with a
(Terminal Type) terminal.
Insert check 1 of ##, beginning on the left side of the reader, with the check face towards the inside of the reader. The display will flash "A" after successful insertion. Wait approximately 30 seconds and repeat this process with checks 2 through ## in the same manner. After successful configuration, unplug the reader, the display should flash a series of number ending in ## - then quickly flash 8 as the reader resets.

Upon rebooting the reader after successfully running all necessary configuration checks, the display on the reader will flash a sequence of digits. Successful configuration for the appropriate terminal type can be confirmed by the last two digits being as follows:
